The United Arab Emirates have updated their visa system to include a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa. Prior to this, the visas were valid for 30 to 90 days only. As part of its efforts to entice travellers to any of the seven Emirates, a whole campaign featuring some hollywood stars was released in late 2019. The short film starring Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Zoe Saldana, portrayed campaign dubbed “A Story Takes Flight” has been going viral, with some billboards popping up everywhere -- there’s even one on Kobry October, so keep an eye out for that. These new visa policies are no doubt a continuation of those efforts.
The new visa is for all nationalities and with no conditions, no doubt with the goal of putting the UAE as a key global tourist destination. Dubai has already been making it to the top of a few lists as one of the top destinations to consider in 2020, including Travel and Leisure and Lonely Planet. With the Expo coming up this year, the UAE doesn’t just want to be a destination for 2020, so maybe having a 5-year visa on your passport will make you consider Dubai or any other destination in the UAE as a yearly trip -- begone savings.
